Most issuers offer statement credits, bank deposits, or checks. Statement credits are instant; deposits usually take one or two business days.
Flat rate or categories?
If you will not track categories, take the flat 1.5%–2%. If your grocery or gas spend is heavy, a 3%–6% category card can out-earn it.
Is there a limit on cash back?
Flat-rate cards are usually uncapped. Category cards often cap bonus rates at a quarterly or annual spend threshold, then drop to 1%.
